Fantasy Tool: Cleavers

I have to admit this thing looked fantastic, I should have had it just for display. When I received it, it was 25% larger than I expected in every way. From the blade to the hilt, from the scabbard to the stand, everything wasn't just big, it was BIG. It's a little cartoonish. But before you think it's a total joke, remember: it's not only designed to look good, it's CUT well too. While it's heavy and not something you'd want to use on a daily basis in a restaurant kitchen, it feels balanced (for a cleaver). There's a sense of control, which is nice. The edges (toe and heel) are dangerously sharp and you need to feel (and control) the instrument. It's sharp enough to pass the present shave test. If you think this tool is "stupid", let's think about its uses: Melons, acorns or spaghetti squash, very hard cabbage with one of those gnarly hard seeds, striped loin, pork loin, 15 second split the chicken into 4 parts, etc. Anything you're reluctant to use a knife and afraid of is probably a piece of cake with this axe. Although I bought it mainly for its evil looks, I think I'll end up using it more than my Dalstrong Kiritsuke. The potential is huge and it could be the most powerful kitchen tool I have that I don't have to plug in. Although the front looks sharp in the photos, the edges along the front (leading up) are NOT sharp. This should contribute to the fantastic image Dalstrong spade nailed to the wall.
