Compared with expensive lenses on the market, this lens is more affordable. It's not heavy, it's the largest and heaviest XF lens Fujifilm has to offer. He really draws attention. It's strong but not as heavy as comparable Canon and Nikon lenses. I am very happy with the clarity and image quality. The focus ring is a little tight, probably because it's new. I wish it could focus closer than about five feet. However, I get great bokeh with this lens. The image stabilization allows me to hold the lens in my hands and photograph birds on telephone poles. It works well for shots of the moon with a crop factor of 1.5, making it look like a 600mm lens in a 35mm format. Several small "gifts" come with this lens. One of them is a small flap in the hood that allows you to adjust polarizing filters without removing the hood. The lens hood snaps back onto the lens when you want to retract it. There's a focus distance limit switch that locks the lens to 100mm for wear so the autofocus system doesn't "roam" the full range of the lens. I am attaching two photos. The first is an uncropped photo of a radio tower about 8 miles away. The second is a crop of the first photo showing how it can be enlarged.
