They work, I tested the cutter on some compression straps I wore on a camping trip. And shards were tested on bottles. The color is great so you can see it at night but the holder is a bit cheesy. The hardest part is figuring out where to install it. The great thing is that it comes in two packs, one for each car. But I'll also buy it for the house, for firefighting, when the window is the only way out. Better than using your elbow, funny how easy it looks in the movies.
