This stand is otherwise solidly constructed, and the base is 'chunky' in mass, giving it complete stability.BoYata products are very high quality in terms of fit & finish and is apparent as soon as you put your hands on them.BoYata has addressed the load bearing capability, revising the spec down from 11 lbs. to 6 lbs. Their customer support team has assured me that the engineers have improved the inherent load bearing, tension capability and that this stand will now remain in position. A future improvement should be to add some sort of user lockable, tension control. If you're using something other than a "Muscle" gaming laptop that weighs in @ more than 6 lbs., this Ergonomic Stand should work just fine for you. Pay close attention to where you first set its angle and if you see any change over time, contact BoYata. They will be happy to assist you.I contacted BoYata directly and their support was good. BoYata told me they will be changing their published specs (which they did do) to reflect a more accurate load rating and also stated they've stiffened the design (which I cannot verify). In light of the specification change, I have updated my review.
