Very happy with the device. We live near Austin, Texas and haven't used central cooling this summer. During the day it was mid to early 90's. We use a 1/4 hp unit. on our 55 gallon tank, which is overkill. That's what we were hoping for, we bought it for our 110th tank but haven't installed it yet. At first the device seemed noisy, but now I rarely notice it working. It needs excellent ventilation, so don't try to place it in an enclosed aquarium floor. It works for about 2 minutes and turns off. We set the water temperature to 78 degrees and it runs about every 10 minutes during the hottest part of the day. We have LED lights and a wooden aquarium cover, both of which can increase heat. The only issues with the device were leaking connectors on the device. I don't like the communication style anyway. They are 1 1/4 inches tall and you can find plumbing fittings to replace them at almost any major hardware store. Spent less than $10 on fittings and they've been working flawlessly ever since. to buy the next smaller unit for our 55 gallons.
