If you have trouble opening a clam with this knife, that's your problem, not the knife. Some shells have been hit so hard that there is no easily identifiable entry point. Mine is less than 10 percent and I vaporize it. Opened 2 dozen clams a week in a year with this knife, no problem. It doesn't say a single one. If you have to use brute force, you're out of the slot and slipping. I like the top necks, about 2 3/4" in diameter, they're easier to hold and let you know you're eating a shellfish. Try a lime and some good chili powder. I rinse and dry the knife. That's it .Chip!
