Review on Sicoince Water Hammer Arrestor 231-2-FM(1 PACK): 3/8 Inch Male Compression & 3/8 Inch Female Compression for Dishwasher & Toilet by Phil Prater

I bought this water hammer arrester to stop water hammer that was happening every time my dishwasher was running and I regret not buying it this year. It literally took 5 minutes to install the device and my problem was completely solved. When I first installed it there was a very slight leak (a drip every few minutes from the compression fitting) but I attribute that to user error. I fixed the leak by removing the outgoing umbilical, cleaning it and more carefully aligning the compression fitting a second time before tightening everything. No leaks in the last week since then. Anyway I didn't bother replacing the old bushing with the one that came in the box as it was still in good condition and I didn't need any pipe sealant or any kind of leak fixative compound. Water hammer is no joke. This was enough to loosen the clamp on the copper supply line for several years and I'm pretty sure the resulting movement in the hot water supply line to the dishwasher and kitchen faucet was enough to fatigue the flexible supply line to the sink.. .to the point where it leaked. The flexible supply line was built into the faucet so the whole thing had to be replaced and of course it was all fused and I had to drill out the nut holding it in the faucet but that's for another time. Long story short if I had bought this 5 years ago this water hammer absorber would have saved me a few hundred dollars on a new faucet and made the leak worse and cleaned it up.
