Luckily the part was undamaged, that's it.
Installed this new carburetor and it worked great. I was a bit nervous about the way it was packaged (cardboard box, not corrugated in a plastic bag), it arrived in a crumpled box. Luckily the parts weren't damaged, so everything worked out. Since the carburetor I was replacing was not serviceable by me due to the EPA poking their nose into our lives, that was my only option. I'm glad it worked.
