Good security camera with all in one versatility

I had 6 different brands of security cameras using 4 different applications. So far this Amtifo W5 device performs very well, on par with the best camera I own. All of my solar powered cameras have separate solar panels and while they work well they require extra effort to install both the panel and the camera. This Amtifo device has a large solar panel built right into the top of the device and within days of installation it showed a 100% charge as any solar powered camera should. What I noticed positively: WLAN reception, which is one of the best compared to my other cameras. I installed it in my backyard shed. Excellent daylight vision, sharp and clear with accurate colors. (see photo) Very good infrared night vision. (see photo) Very good color night vision. (see photo) Excellent microphone, the best of all my cameras. It captures everything and is crystal clear. Very good speaker (audio) coming from the bottom of the camera. The Tuya Smart app required for this camera is also excellent. It's better than Ubox and ToSee and is on par with the CloudEdge app I use with other cameras. The inspection covers are screwed to the underside of the device and sealed with flat rubber seals. I like that a screwdriver is included. Chambers to remove the access covers and a hex wrench to adjust the position of the chamber. The cable from the solar module has a threaded connection that is sealed with an O-ring. You also connect to this connection to charge the battery for the first time. On the front of the camera is an elongated "hood" that prevents water from entering the camera lens when it rains. 4 batteries are installed to provide sufficient backup power. Reserve for cloudy/rainy days. Cons: The camera requires a 'special' charging cable instead of a standard micro-USB or USB-C cable. It plugs into a standard USB charger (not included), but the other end is special. There is no "sensitivity" setting for motion detection (radar) in the app, just on and off. All other cameras I own offer this customization feature to avoid false alarms. Despite this, I have not had any false alarms with this camera so far. The battery percentage in the app is only updated in 20% increments. Other cameras and apps I own show the battery percentage in 1% increments. In my opinion this is not a problem as the charge from the solar charge remains at 100% and was lower than when I first charged the device. Overall I like this camera and will be pairing it with my shed.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
