a good ruler for cutting blocks to a uniform 8" square (to make finished 7 1/2" quilted blocks). I was disappointed that the inch markings weren't on all four sides of the ruler. Supplied with brown paper glued on which is difficult to peel off as it does not peel off in one big piece but in strips. However, it worked great for trimming squares from an expensive but far from perfect pre-cut set. It fills the gap between my 7 1/2" and 8 1/2" rulers and I will definitely use it again, albeit perhaps not for its intended purpose.
