Light stainless steel pan

Full disclosure. Maybe I should have looked at this pan a little more carefully before buying it, but I saw the stainless steel, the grill, and the riveted handles and figured it would do. I was wrong. This pan is a single layer stainless steel pan. It's not much more than the durable, disposable aluminum frying pan you can buy at the grocery store. Sure he'll make a turkey or a roast, but all he'll do is give you handles to take the dish in and out of the oven and keep the juice from spilling all over the place. One thing that is not clear in the product description is the bottom. The pan is not flat. There is a raised ridge in the middle which is problematic for me. I planned to use this to braising or browning foods on my flat electric stovetop before putting them in the oven. You can't do that with this pan. It also has a pan limit of 500 degrees, which can also cause problems when cooking on high heat or gas.

Pros
  • Household and kitchen
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
