Delta screwed up the original design. Most reviews say the same thing: the set screw will corrode and you will have to cut or drill the screw to remove the old knob. A water drain was added to the new model, but I still wouldn't trust it. Take some anti-seize (small packets are available at auto parts stores) or silicone grease and apply to the set screw before installing. Be generous in the amount you use as there is no harm in having more. No more stuck set screws.
