. Does what it's supposed to, distilling about a gallon in four hours. Easy to clean, just white vinegar to dissolve deposits and wipe with a terry towel, no soap required, no scouring pad. The glass carafe was not easy to assemble, with steel straps and a handle. . The handle is still not quite straight (and I wouldn't trust it to take all the weight when full). But the glass is pretty thick and strong, with a non-slip surface on the bottom. I had to solve the problem with a dripping overflow from the carbon filter housing. It has been found that when the charcoal filter dries out, it does not flow properly the next time it is used, but instead has air pockets that form a vapor lock, causing droplets to overflow the sides of the filter. To fix this, always keep the filter wet by storing it in a jar of water when not in use.
