It's not 1/4 " it's 5/16 " and that little difference made the project that much harder!
As you can see these dowels are advertised as 1/4" x 18" but they are actually 5/16" x 18" and are not compatible with the nice little tips that I also bought to finish my project (a crochet tree for my granddaughter). I am really disappointed! Everything is back to normal now, and there's still work to be done - I need to sand the ends to "force" them to the tips.
