Sturdy dowels, smooth finish

This set of 100 1/4" wooden dowels were used for crafting. The 1/4" is quite strong and the sticks provided were the same size and sanded smooth. The job was about 10% unfinished. The sticks appear to have been repackaged. Came in two packs of 50. Each sealed bag contained another plastic bag with a hole in the bottom. Some must have fallen out of the original packaging. Worth sending back not, so I kept and used what was sent.

Excellent quality! Suitable for wooden products

Like many people who shop on Amazon, I first check the negative product reviews. I've seen some bad ones but not enough to stop me from ordering the product. I was very surprised at how smooth the dowels were, but not the exact size of the dowels. They were perfectly 1/4 inch (.250). What does it matter? Well I had 80 pre-made 3D printed mounting brackets with .252 x .002 holes for a tolerance fit. I got what I asked for so why complain?

It's not 1/4 " it's 5/16 " and that little difference made the project that much harder!

As you can see these dowels are advertised as 1/4" x 18" but they are actually 5/16" x 18" and are not compatible with the nice little tips that I also bought to finish my project (a crochet tree for my granddaughter). I am really disappointed! Everything is back to normal now, and there's still work to be done - I need to sand the ends to "force" them to the tips.

Those are nice dowels and just what we need!

Excellent quality plugs with a smooth surface. We made "bells" for my daughter's wedding. We needed something that didn't need a janitor or gardener to clean up (no rice or bird seed please!) and we borrowed this idea from Pinterest. Two bells (different sizes) with ribbon and a drop of hot glue. voila! As the bride and groom left the reception, they ran through a tunnel full of people banging wands. Such a happy sound! First think: you can get longer dowels if you want to cut them.

They came promptly and the 1/4" is great for the projects my social distancing scouts are doing at home. Anyway, cropping wasn't a problem. When I went to order I saw I could get it Fifty 48" 1/4" rods for only $32.99 vs. $19.99 I paid for fifty 18" 1/4" rods. (Prices may change over time). I give these 18" rods for 48" rods back. Good quality material! 48" dowels arrived and we cut them (neatly) on a table saw. I made the nail models with cotton "baker's thread".

Top quality!

I recently needed some dowels to attach to fake mustaches and hats for a photo booth at an event. The local stores near me were a bit more expensive when it came to in-store shopping, so I bought this pack. The quality of the dowels is really good! Before receiving the goods, I was afraid that it might be too thin and might tear in the hands of guests at an event or when moving. However, I was completely wrong.
