We followed the rules and tried to play this game twice with two players. The rules didn't make it clear where the discard came from after it was played (e.g. clearing the deck) and at the beginning of the game. We couldn't even successfully get the 3 up, 3 down stack to complete the game on either of the two tries we tried. The same cards are often dealt back and forth and you can pretty much predict who will end up winning since they will be able to clear their deck first. So this game didn't work for us. I'm not sure why it's rated so highly, but I think people found a way to make it work. I prefer the Five Crowns card game. We will continue to look for another card game to add to our mix.
