Cheap 110V sockets!
Unit rated at 5000w, was using a 1000w InstantPot when I heard the arc. After turning the unit off, the extension cord couldn't come out without a lot of beeping as it was melting. I plugged another extension cord into another 110V outlet, same thing. I rewired the unit by soldering the 110v connections to the universal heavy duty 220v sockets (since I don't need 220v) and now they work fine as 110v sockets.
- Meters with a digital display are more accurate, more stable and easy to read at a glance.
