This HTMZ cordless meat thermometer has been very useful and high tech in my kitchen for the past few days. I really like how helpful and accurate it is and the remote monitor is great for basically being able to walk away from the grill/stove/grill for a few minutes and still know exactly how your meat is cooking. The unit has several different modes/categories pre-programmed so all you have to do is select whether you are cooking beef, pork, poultry etc., then insert the sensors, sit back and relax. Also quite adept at reading two different or identical feeds; That means one sensor is channel one and the second sensor is channel two - with this flexibility you can read the same meat in two different places to ensure you're getting a thoroughly cooked core temperature - or - you can cook different meats at the same time and Core temperature measurements of two different flavors; Beef and poultry, pork and fish or whatever you're grilling at the same time :-) It runs on 4 AAA batteries, so its power supply isn't anything unusual or unique - a built-in battery would be nice too. - but there's nothing wrong with using old-school alkaline batteries. The orange color scheme makes it easy for me to spot it from across the room or find it if I put it in and forgot, wo - lol. It's the size and weight of a smartphone, and the display is fairly easy to read, and for those late-night barbecues - just press the "Try it" button and the backlight comes on, making the device even easier to read!
