Review on Kwikset Signature Series Deadbolt 99090-018 - Pack of 1, Satin Nickel by Scot Hughes

My Okidokeys Smart Lock hasn't worked for a while. I tried to find a solution to fix the problem and it seemed like the whole company disappeared. Now I'm stuck with a dead Smart Deadbolt. It was great and handy when it worked, but smart devices require constant updates as technology advances every day. The problem is that we just don't know how long new startups and their ilk will survive to hold what they've been selling, which is a lack of curious early adopters. In any case, this set does not fall into the "Smart Home Devices” category, but it does make it smarter and more convenient from time to time. Installation was quick and easy, I believe most people who can follow the instructions will have no problem. The battery lasted about half a year, but that depends on the number of uses. Replacing the batteries was easy too, and I didn't have to reprogram any code numbers or anything like that, unlike some other number pad latches. Overall I am happy with my purchase. It's "intelligent". I don't have to pull my phone out when I've got my hands full and try to unlock the phone with a fingerprint, and I don't have to pair/restore it after an app update, iOS update and all kinds of software updates. All I need to unlock is entering four digit numbers. No need to carry the keys, the batteries last a long time. I will probably stay with this set for a long time and see what really "intelligent" locking devices come in the future.
