Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ Zixtec 10 Pack LM2596 DC-DC Buck Converter Step Down Module: Efficient Power Supply DIP Output 1.25V-30V 3A (ZT001) by Isaac Simpson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great voltage reducers.

Connections must be soldered but well marked with polarity and input and output functions. 9 out of 10 they were usually set to the desired voltage. 1 of these had the set screw slightly loose and could slip out of place. But the one I installed as needed and applied a dab of silicone sealant is holding up great. I used 3 of these at the same time to convert a 24V 3D printer power supply to 12V for use with Noctua 12V Ultra Quiet fans only 9V DC battery. I also had several devices that ran on small 3 volt batteries and we died a lot. So I added the board back so I could use standard 9V batteries with 3V circuits and run much longer. Since most of my 3D printers use 24V power supplies, they are also often not suitable for the small 12V or 5V circuits that I make as add-on components. By using these buck converters one can easily install these small circuits and still use the built in 24V power supply. Just be careful not to exceed the 3A limit. It's a lot easier to have them than to be sure that what I'm doing will make my 3D printers' voltages a little higher. Also, some of these devices allow me to eliminate the AC adapter or batteries and install them permanently and power them from the printer's AC adapter. Great little boards for the price.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Reliability
