I used the rubber foot to replace the tip of the stick. While most tips fit on a stick, I needed one that screws on. The few I found were many times more expensive than these legs. This leg was about the perfect size (just slightly taller than the one I replaced and about half the height, but that was fine for my needs). screw into the brass tip, not the wood screw that came with it), but that was fine too.
