Review on Furrion Vision S 7" Wireless RV Backup System with IR Night Vision and Wide Viewing Angles: Rear Sharkfin Camera and Side Running Light Cameras - FOS07TAEN by Antonio Bacon

Works great in slow motion - stays disconnected at freeway speeds

My Grand Design Imagine XLS camper comes pre-wired with a Furion backup camera so I bought and installed it. The reversing camera - with sound so you can hear the woman's instructions - works perfectly if you turn it on when you arrive at the campsite and use it when you return to camp. Where the device fails - and I mean every time - is like a safety net when towing an RV on the freeway. I was VERY interested in using this camera system (I bought two side cameras separately) to check while driving with a monitor behind and beside me so I can see if there are any vehicles that might interfere with lane changing movement. FAIL! The camera doesn't communicate once I get over 30mph and I have a black screen instead of images of the surrounding traffic. As a side note, I use a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 series pickup to tow a camper. My Imagine XLS is a 22MLE model, so it's only 26 feet long. I've read reviews that the Dodge pickup range has poor power management on their 7-pin connectors, so I ALSO bought a Furrion FR69SR 7-pin power supply with a power switch to solve this problem. Neither! The notion of having a camera system as a security system using a table stand when camping also baffles me. I have no idea how the wiring will go to enable this feature as the system requires the car's headlights to be on to power the cameras. When I removed the factory marker lights I definitely didn't have the right connectors to turn them on and the backup camera is a plug-in. FAIL. I am very disappointed that after almost $1,000 I have a system that only works for a few, albeit critical, minutes when I turn on my trailer. I would advise people considering this system to look elsewhere.
