Review on HARFO Fingerprint Door Lock: Keyless Entry with Touchscreen & OLED Display - Passcode Keypad Lock for Office & Home (Aged Bronze) by Mark Fleming

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great lock with very few caveats and some installation caveats!

If you have a steel door, you will need a multi-tool and experience to install this lock. I had to use a carbide-tipped multi-tool to cut the stud and faceplate out of the steel. The included drill came in very handy. I could drill through a steel door and wood with no problem. The lock looks and feels very heavy (for example, it's quite heavy). The instructions need to be transcribed by a native English speaker, although I was still able to figure everything out without calling their helpdesk. User programming was easy. Please note that each fingerprint, combination lock or proxy card counts as one "User". Usernames and their associated authentication methods cannot be programmed. For the 300 authentication slots available, each slot is essentially a "user". So if you program 2 fingers, 2 passwords and 2 key fobs, that's 6 users! Everyone is considered an "other" user. I want it to be able to add a username and then bind many authentication methods to that username. Currently, for each authentication method, you must keep a log in a spreadsheet and indicate who was assigned that keychain, fingerprint, etc. The fingerprint reader can often hit or miss, but that's more of a user issue. You must be consistent in how you place your finger on the device. It's always best to gently press and use your finger while programming for best results. Accessing the emergency keyhole is an absolute breeze; it was definitely well thought out. I like the fact that once you enter the house he immediately locks the door behind you. I no longer have to worry about my wife leaving the front door unlocked when she's home alone. Once you learn how to operate this lock you will quickly realize that it has been a great investment in your security and easy access. It's also easy to give the nanny a temporary code. You have the option to create one-time access codes. price just right. Other vendors should look into this and lower the ridiculously high prices of their half-equipped locks. I don't particularly like locks controlled by Echo or Google Home. This seriously calls for trouble. This lock is a great option if you really don't need the ability to unlock it remotely, a built in alarm, a built in camera, or the ability to interact with your phone to view authentication or programming logs. However, programming in place was a breeze. I plan to buy more in the future as long as the price stays within reason. I really enjoy this purchase.
