Works great though. to Internal TV tuner and capture cards

I bought this card to capture game consoles on Linux. Installing drivers and software from the BlackMagic Support Portal was easy. I can say that this device works great if you only have modern consoles. this. Consoles with native resolutions of 720p or higher via HDMI. The WiiU worked great but couldn't get any signal at all for retro consoles without using an upscaler that also converted the composite to HDMI. While this gave the video, the audio was corrupted, preventing the Retro from recording at all. Also, I couldn't use the HDMI splitter. No sound was transmitted because of the splitter; Only one video was sent. This resulted in me not having my TV and PC connected at the same time, forcing me to use HMDI pass-through on the card. Now my PC and software needs to be running to play, even if I only play occasionally and don't need to record. To make sure it wasn't related to my original setup, I tried recording in both Media Express and OBS Studio, and to rule out Linux, I retested in Windows on the same PC. The above problems occurred regardless of the software or operating system used. To use this card, you need modern source hardware that natively outputs 720p or higher, no HDMI upscalers/converters/splitters, and enough storage space to record. You should use AVI Motion JPEG in Media Express for the smallest files, which are still much larger than MP4 recordings. I couldn't use OBS because it didn't work over HDMI. While I can record, there is nothing on the TV! Media Express allows pass-through, so you must use it and burn large files. I ended up sending the card back for a refund. It's not for me, but might work well for you depending on setup and usage.
