This was a disappointment, you can't rub it with it, it will tear or come loose. I have a grill that has beautiful porcelain cast iron grates so they're pretty smooth and easy to clean if you do this every time. On that note, after I finished my steak the grill was still warm and I tasted it, not much, it doesn't do anything to dip between highlights (not deep on my grill at all). After the usual cleaning and some oil, the second attempt brought good results. This is more of a final step than a solution.
