I purchased these optical drives for Tier 2 data archiving after multiple hard drives AND RAID drives had failed. Also, I wanted to print visual cues in color to distinguish discs from one another, so I settled on the Epson Artisan 837 Wireless All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer, Copier, Scanner, Fax, Compatible with iOS/Tablet/Smartphone/AirPrint (C11CB20201 All Arrived quickly and well packaged (not always the case) Took 20 minutes to assemble I designed a sample DVD cover, popped one of these babies into the printer, pressed the print button and 30 seconds later WOW! Absolutely stunning colours and details - thanks to Epson for that too. see final output. So that's trash time for this drive. Unfortunately I had confidential information on the printed cover that I wanted to remove. The disc had about an hour or two to dry. Here is, what I did to remove information from the printed surface of the disc: 1. Water: Under the tap Cold water Hot water: NOTHING (this was done with an inkjet print he printed, right?) 2. White spirit: NOTHING (not even the smallest speck). 3. Ethyl Alcohol: NONE (What?! No stains here either.) 4. Acetone: NONE (You must be kidding! It dissolves almost all the plastic I have!) Ink Removal): NONE (I think the disc has laughed at me at this point). Printing surface of these Taiyo Yuden discs? UNBELIEVABLE! VERY!
