Could be worse - scanners and accessories

***Update update: I ended up kicking the little guy out. The white line returned too often and too conspicuously. :(**Update: after a few thorough cleanings the white streak is gone. I expect it to come back but hopefully I can keep it at bay with regular cleanings. This little fella is a really cute scanner that works well.. .for the most part.I'd say it costs about what I paid for it.Good:*It's very portable.I take it to relatives and get them out so I can scan their old photos.*It's easy You should read the instructions as there is no on screen interface but once you get the hang of it it won't be easy* It scans pretty well For $40 it scans as well as my flatbed scanner No I'd cry after scanning 200 photos on my tablet in 2 days?Yes.* The quality itself stays pretty much the same as the original. It's not great but hey - like the 1975 photos I scan-they keep the perspective Bad: *White streak on the Rib .R At first it was sporadic and didn't bother, but over time it's getting worse and worse. cleans up a bit, but doesn't work very well so far.* It strangely started out cropping photos, not at their actual size, which is annoying as you can't see the photos until you put a memory card in the computer, which I don't want to post check each photo, you won't know until you're done.* There is some creaking at times, but that doesn't seem to affect performance. however* sometimes it just stops in the middle of a scan. For no apparent reason. BUT it hasn't stuck or messed up the picture yet, so all you have to do is pull it out and start over. Bottom line: I had about 750 images before I started getting mad at $40 (5.3 cents per image). Sending you to someone to do it for you costs $160 for 1800 (8.9 cents per picture) so I feel like I got my money's worth. Mainly because I can do it and put it right back into the album instead of having to take them all out at once, send them out, and then put them back in. I hope that if I give it a break, it will work better again. If so, I'll update my review.
