My boat has a notched transom but it doesn't.
My boat has a notched transom and no room for a wrench when the boat is on a trailer and I have tried 12 point sockets with little success. My brother-in-law suggested an 8-sided outlet (didn't even know it existed) and ordered this outlet. The socket fits perfectly into the square end of the drain plug. Now I have no problem replacing my boat's drain plug!
