My house has a staircase that should have had a railing from the day it was built, but for some reason it does not the case that wasn't so my parents are getting older and need to use the stairs so i wanted to install a railing but we also need to be able to move large furniture up and down the stairs I used it to install a removable railing I also attached the sockets to the wall then I drilled a hole in the center and screwed one of them in. To reduce the torque on the socket and the furniture screw I drilled a hole in the studs where the sockets were installed and used a long screw attaching the handrail bracket to the socket and continued into the pre-drilled hole in the post A downward k applied to the handrail Force is exerted on a screw that fits about an inch into the post (I have 3-inch screws). I added a drop of blue threadlocker to keep the screws from coming out, but these furniture screws probably don't need it. I didn't mean to be proud of the rosette removing it from the handrail bracket but I don't think it would make much of a difference. Either way they worked great for my removable stair railing.
