I have used this on new plastic and it has faded a bit. After application it looks decent, but not particularly in the rain. Surely there are better options. I recently started using optimal opti-bond tire gel and noticed how short the lifespan of the VRP actually was. I cleaned and dried the plastic trash can lid and did a side-by-side comparison. I know it's a dumpster, but it's plastic and exposed to direct sunlight and rain. So the test lasted one day. I am attaching a picture where the VRP has been applied (right) next to the Opti-Bond (left) and the night dew has already destroyed the VRP. I know VRP is supposed to be a water based product but the next day it looked like oil was dripping down onto water and rainbow colors were floating in the dew. It doesn't last long anyway, and I've found that opti-bond works better with both tires and black trim. My car sits down all the time and the plastic is starting to fade a bit. VRP has done little to disguise it or appear to protect it. Because my car sits outside of the bandage, which lasts longer, it looks good longer and has time for other things.
