Review on πŸ–₯️ StarTech.com 3-Port Multi Monitor Adapter: DisplayPort MST Hub for Triple 4K Monitors - Windows PCs Only by Steven Saric

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Stops working with 1 monitor after 3 weeks, but stops outputting to Minitors after 4 weeks Total

Initially, this DisplayPort1.2 worked Hub works well with my ASUS GL551J laptop (uses a Mini DisplayPort 1.2 connector). It supports DisplayPort 1.2, so monitors can be daisy chained. I used a hub to output video to 2 external monitors (ASUS VP278Q-P 27 inch monitors)1) After half a month the temperature of the device reaches 50 degrees Celsius (it was too hot to touch until I left it for a few minutes) 2) Last week the DisplayPort 1.2 hub stopped working for the right monitor but kept outputting video on the second monitor (not working with the hub) I'm not sure if this a Problem is with the Intel graphics driver or if the device is internally damaged due to temperature changes. I'm assuming the monitors didn't fail at the same time, I'm leaning towards the displayport hub rather than a software driver on my laptop. Do you have recommendations as a seller? I have no way of diagnosing a DisplayPort1.2 hub. I have included images of windows 10 settings where windows can see monitors but monitors cannot be selected as display output. I also included the Device Manager view. (Now 640 x 480 monitors are considered instead of the normal monitor resolution). This image also has an Intel display driver.

Pros
  • GPU FEATURES: Please check the maximum number of displays supported by your GPU; Some GPU chips (like Intel HD Graphics) can only support a maximum of three displays (a laptop screen might turn off when connected to three monitors)
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
