The touch screen driver is non-standard and only offers a digital version: Upgrading your OS allows you to boot longer. They're basically stuck with the latest OS they've developed for (and they're over 6 months behind). There are other touchscreens on the market that use the standard touchscreen USB mouse driver, cost a little more but are not a problem.
