We make a lot of coffee and tea in a French press at home. I ordered this on Prime Day (I actually accidentally ordered two and gave one to my sister). Putting the kettle in the dishwasher is probably not exactly normal workflow, but it ended up going through a normal cycle and came out without most of the colour! I actually like the stainless steel finish more than cranberry, but if that's the color you're looking for, remember that you just have to wipe this kettle down instead of putting it in the machine to clean. It's also a bit "slow". compared to the kettle it replaced, but it holds more volume and appears to have a much thicker base. It takes more than 20 minutes to simmer on the small burner of our glass cooktop. The big burner takes about 10 minutes. So if you have an efficient stove without a big burner, maybe on a boat, this kettle probably isn't for you. A trigger in the handle to control the spout maintains its opening with a locking button protruding from the top of the handle. It's good. It is easy to use, and the handle is quite large, so it is easy to use for small people or the elderly when it is full of boiling water. The whistle warning starts off a bit quiet, but as the water boils I can hear it throughout the house. I like to brew my coffee in a French press at around 200°F, so I expect a faint whistle and it's almost perfect.
