As said the bottom and depths can be checked but that's not enough to mark fish, you can compare the demo with and without the fish symbol included and you won't be able to understand why this is the case marks the fish (with activated fish symbol). The icon is great for beginners, but as someone inexperienced you want to see the arcs, not the icon, and the resolution just isn't good enough for that. I don't know why this phone has so many good reviews. This is normal in my book. Hardly has any function, this may include battery voltage. I bought it based on reviews and it was similar to the Lowrance Elite 4 I once owned. Maybe it's good bang for the buck, but I'd recommend saving a little more for something more useful.
