This is a strong and durable key fob to attach around the house. The keyboard is provided with a cover that protects it from bad weather. You can change the code frequently, which is a plus for me. It works as expected, you just need to keep a few important points in mind: 1 - If you mess up the code, you must press the 'Clear' button before trying again. This may seem silly and obvious, but if someone pressed a few keys before you get there, you might not understand why your code isn't working.2 - The code must be entered before opening and before closing. The door will not close without a second code entry. A little annoying, but I can live with that 3 - The internal storage is smaller than it looks. A key fits snugly, but if you've got a key on a keychain, or two keys tied together, you may need to wiggle them a bit so they're flat enough to close the door. My key is on a fob, but a thoughtful addition to this safe is a small hole in the back of the compartment where you can attach a hook to the wall where the unit is mounted. Now the key hangs neatly inside and doesn't get stuck in the compartment when I try to close it. Some reviewers point out that the code numbers can be entered in any order. Yes, it is true. If this protects your bank vault, you might want to consider another product. But I think most of us can be reasonably confident that the chances of someone figuring out what our numbers 4 through 6 are and filling them in are pretty slim. You need to know this fact as well, and if you haven't read the reviews on this key safe, you might not know it. I think they could jump out of the window a lot easier, it all comes down to motivation. If you're that worried, stick the safe in a dark place somewhere and they won't even know it's there. I am satisfied with the product.
