I gave my old external DVD drive to my grandson so he can watch movies on his laptop; I ordered this as a replacement. First: A very minor complaint: the USB cable is permanently attached to the drive, which limits the space available for the drive when you plug it into your computer. You can always use the USB extender if distance is an issue. Otherwise I'm completely satisfied with it. A small USB to mini USB converter is included (don't lose it). It supports Lightscribe. Although HP shut down the Lightscribe website in 2013, it still exists and is still very useful. If you need an external DVD drive, this one will do what you need.
