External drive Lightscribe! Yes!

I recently received a new Macbook Air but it didn't have a floppy drive. Many of the school programs that our children gave us have been recorded on CDs and DVDs. But also music CDs and films that we borrow from the library, or taking photos and videos, it can do everything. And at such a low price. I do not regret it.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Negative experience

Lightscribe CD, DVD Writer

This is an excellent Lightscribe and DVD Writer. I've recorded and burned over 500 DVDs with no problems, from simple small titles to DVDs with heavier graphic designs (all in black). and white due to the Lightscibe system). This external DVD works well after some time.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Updates available

Works with Windows 7

I had to download some kind of driver after searching the internet for Lightscribe software. The Nero software only recognized it as a Lightscribe drive after loading the driver. I previously said I used it with Windows 10. That was a mistake. I have two identical laptops, but I installed it on Windows 7, not 10. I'm sure if it works on 7 it will work on 10 too.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

I don't know yet!: Computers and accessories

This item cannot be displayed yet because an unexpected problem occurred. My old computer had a LightScribe drive built in, and I used it a lot. I actually have a stash of LightScribe discs. Problem? Apparently, LightScribe is not a program supported by Windows 10, my new computer's operating system. It doesn't really look like LightScribe is still in production. At the moment I'm trying to find software compatible with Windows 10. Now all I have is an extra DVD drive!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Minor Maintainability

Hidden cable and USB-C converter

The new technology does not require a DVD burner. I have a Microsoft Surface and he doesn't have one. I wanted to buy a Blu-Ray, but neither my laptop nor my display supports it. I've decided to buy this. It is easy to use and easy to carry. The cable doesn't take up too much space either. There is a regular USB to USB-C type converter. It's just great. It is compatible with USB 2.0 and 3.0. I have not burned a CD or DVD. I haven't checked yet. I mainly use it to read CDs and DVDs. That works…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Almost everything included

One minor complaint

I gave my old external DVD drive to my grandson so he can watch movies on his laptop; I ordered this as a replacement. First: A very minor complaint: the USB cable is permanently attached to the drive, which limits the space available for the drive when you plug it into your computer. You can always use the USB extender if distance is an issue. Otherwise I'm completely satisfied with it. A small USB to mini USB converter is included (don't lose it). It supports Lightscribe. Although HP shut…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Good, but there are nuances.

I bought this specifically for the Lightscribe feature as I lost it when I switched computers years ago. I didn't realize this until recently when I tried burning the Lightscribe label and realized my drive was a regular DVD. I've burned 2 labels on 2 different days with this disc and noticed some annoying oddities, but I'll fix them as it's very difficult to find Lightscribe discs, especially external ones. The USB cable is very short to plug into the front USB port of my tower. I ended up…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • thin
