Review on πŸ“€ High-Speed Ultra-Slim CD DVD Drive Burner: Lightscribe External USB 3.0 Type-c Optical Drive for PC Laptop Desktop MacBook Mac Windows 7/8.1/10 Linux by Ron Houston

Good, but there are nuances.

I bought this specifically for the Lightscribe feature as I lost it when I switched computers years ago. I didn't realize this until recently when I tried burning the Lightscribe label and realized my drive was a regular DVD. I've burned 2 labels on 2 different days with this disc and noticed some annoying oddities, but I'll fix them as it's very difficult to find Lightscribe discs, especially external ones. The USB cable is very short to plug into the front USB port of my tower. I ended up having to mount it a bit wobbly on top of the cell phone tower's recess as the length of the cord prevents it from sitting on the floor or any sturdy piece of furniture within reach. May be good for a laptop user on a flat surface. I also noticed that the drive drawer opens randomly. This happened when I put in a new burn disc, leading me to believe something was wrong with the disc, but it also happened when there was no disc in the tray. The last thing that bothers me is that it doesn't "eject" from the computer even when I'm talking. I'm the type that prefers to electronically disconnect external devices before disconnecting them from the computer. Overall, this is a decent ride, especially for $40. Pros: Ease of use (plug and play) Portability Supports USB 2 and 3 Price is reasonable External storage Cons: Short USB cable Tray pops up randomly Doesn't "eject" from the computer until it shuts down
