My son wore them for a week in the mountains and lakes of East Tennessee. It's very rocky and he climbed well above my comfort level several times and his shoes never slipped on the rocks and his feet never slipped on his boots. The whole family has favorite shoes and we will never go back to standard Walmart shoes if you know what I'm talking about. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but you'll be glad you spent the money when you step a little underwater and your toes don't feel like they're broken, or when you get out of the sand and/ or mud will come out if you shake them underwater because of the excellent drainage built into this product.
