It's very rocky and he climbed well above my comfort level several times and his shoes never slipped on the rocks and his feet never slipped on his boots. These models are very, very big. My daughter wears a 4.5 in every other shoe but after 2 orders of 4.5 and then 6 they are still too small. Hope 7 works. Also, the same shoes are sold under multiple brand names. So even though I bought the 6 from a 'different' brand, it was exactly the same shoes/packaging/everything as the 4.5 I originally ordered but under a different brand. This shell game is annoying.
