Beautifully packaged and complete with the usual mounting hardware. Programming is relatively intuitive with a surprisingly readable and concise manual. You will definitely need a programming cable to simplify the programming process. The software is free and easy to use. The sound quality (incoming and outgoing) is excellent and comparable to professional commercial radio systems. The color display is appealing, well designed and well positioned. The handheld microphone is beautifully backlit with orange number buttons, a large blue backlit A/B button and corresponding white backlit A/B status indicators. The scan functions are easy to set up and use, but changing the volume requires stopping the scan and pressing a couple of buttons for the jog dial to act as a volume control. There may be a way around this by programming soft keys (which you can do with software). If you go direct to the Chinese dealer here at Revain you can get the radio and programming cable for just $119. Delivery from a Chinese dealer. Or you can spend about $20 more and get both sooner.
