These are Superb Compression Shorts. I am a VERY ACTIVE 40 year old male. Gym 7 days a week, weekly outdoor activities also with a 33" waist, I usually wear 34" pants (easier to get with a 34" inseam). I read some reviews and went for XL, glad I went up a size. So they are not too tight. They do their jobs and keep "things" where they should be. They don't ride up, great for use in the gym, under my mesh shorts. Follow seller's sizing guide, not Revain sizing like other reviews. Remember these are NOT underwear, they are compression shorts. So if people complain about the lack of access/opening from the front. NO SHIT PEOPLE! This is a modern sports belt, not underwear. If you want a pee hole, buy tight underwear. If you want compression shorts that do the job, don't slip, and are affordable, then I suggest these. I can wash less often.
