Review on MAX GREEN Upgraded Portable Electric by Carlos Krueger

Great level 1 charger, level 2 has problems

*Update 2* Max Green Tech kindly sent me a replacement charger so I can try again. Unfortunately my problem remains the same. On my 2015 Chevy Volt, the charger stops charging my car at about 61% when charging from zero. The red LED will flash twice quickly to indicate an AC power problem. I had several electricians check my recently installed car charging circuit and there were no notable problems. I tested the socket with two other chargers and they had no problems. As this product is sold as a level 1 and level 2 charger and level 2 does not always work I have to give it 1 star. However, the charger works great as a tier 1 charger in my car and the accessories that come with it such as the carrying case and the NEMA 5 to NEMA 6 adapter are of excellent quality and the charger itself feels very solid and has a good charge build quality. The support team also went out of their way to help in any way they could and did everything in their power to fix the issues. Thanks a lot for this. *UPDATE* This charger exceeded my expectations as a Tier 1 charger. I was thrilled, professionally installed a NEMA 6-20 outlet and was happy to use this charger as a Tier 2 charger. BUT on my very first level 2 charger, the charger stopped charging 3 times in one charge. The red indicator flashed 2 times quickly and showed "AC Fault". Another electrician came and checked the work of the first electricians to make sure everything was done correctly. I tried the charger 6 more times and each time I got the same error. Eventually, my Chevy Volt even started showing a check engine light when using this charger, saying "there is a problem with the on-board charging system". I ended up ordering a different brand charger and immediately charging worked with the other brand with no issues. The check engine light also went away after I charged the charger I ordered to replace the MaxGreen. By the way, this charger has a card in the box to leave a review, fill out a survey and send them a screenshot of the review. Buy a cable holder and charging port in the car. I followed the instructions exactly, but I never received a mount or any confirmation of its arrival. It was almost a month ago. I'm starting to think that getting information from me is a scam. Wrote a letter asking for help, no reply either. Very sparse and suspicious company website. *Original review for reference* I got this for my 2015 Chevy Volt. I was happy to see that the Tier 1 charging capabilities support 12 amp charging! The build quality of WAAH is better than the included Level 1 charger and I am currently installing a NEMA 6-20 outlet to take advantage of Level 2 charging.
