Review on πŸ”§ Height-Adjustable Wall Mount Bike Repair Stand and Maintenance Rack for Road and Mountain Bicycles by Kenny Sarma

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works fairly well as a bike rack, but not ideal as a repair stand if you need to tilt your bike

Road mountain bike repair stand** I use it primarily as a wall stand for my son's trials bike, and for that purpose it is quite suitable. The stand is attached to the wall very solidly and unless I extend it very far (the tube with the clamp goes in and out of the tube attached to the wall) it's pretty stable. The clamp itself has a groove for brake or shifter cables to be routed along the underside of the bike's top tube. This is a pretty light bike we have, but I'm sure it will do pretty well up to 30-35 pounds or so. Two things disappointed me: The tube with the clamp is only attached to the other tube with a handle that tightens the metal screw. This doesn't allow it to move much, but not secure enough to hold the bike past its normal balance point in either direction. So if you want to lift the front or rear wheel, it won't hold it in place. My other regular work bike stand has notches that firmly lock the rotation of the clamp in one spot. I was also disappointed that the clamp doesn't have a level to tighten, just a knob to screw in. As a result, the clamping or unclamping process takes significantly longer than planned. Also, my other working bike stand uses a combination of level and screw to allow the clamp to be quickly tightened or loosened, and the flexibility to adjust for different size bike tubes. Considering the pros and cons, I have to go with it. The 3 star rating is right in the middle. At $37, it's not bad for a really basic repair stand mount, but it's definitely not going to replace my floor stand anytime soon. As a wall-mounted bike rack, it fulfills its purpose perfectly.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled
