Simple solution for single-monitor, multi-system configurations

I understand that most people don't need a KVM switch that lets you use a keyboard, monitor and mouse to control two systems, but don't I'll tell you that the IOGear device worked as advertised and wasn't as expensive as many of the boxed devices. Unless you buy a KVM with NSA-like specs to avoid crossfeeding from one system to another (hmm, why would you do that here), you really just need a switch to use a monitor with. /Keyboard/Mouse reliably without ghosting, crashes or other issues commonly associated with cheap replacement parts. With a simple button press you can control both your PC and a Linux server (my configuration) without having to get up and switch. This particular model only supports VGA configurations, which are now a bit outdated (most flat screens use DVI, HDMI or Displayport, although some still have VGA output) and PS/2 keyboard/mouse (the old round connectors, as you can see pictured instead of newer USB ports) - but it perfectly matched my needs for my older control systems and saved me from buying another monitor/keyboard/mouse configuration just to properly monitor my network. While this particular configuration is probably no longer useful for many people these days - if you are still using old technology in your shop, secret hideout or survival bunker - this KVM is a good solution that does not require any external power and/or special adapters.
