Review on Cuisinart DCC-3200P1 Perfectemp 14-Cup Programmable 🏺 Coffee Maker with Glass Carafe in Stainless Steel by Tracy Love

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It's really worth it. This is a very good coffee maker. --UPDATED--

After much research I decided to order this coffee maker. Taking into account the negative reviews, my personal experience is mixed but mostly on the positive side. Some reviews mention the smell/taste of plastic. It WAS, but only for the first few pots. After the first few it was completely gone. And in terms of speed, how fast it makes coffee. This works well enough for me. It's ready before I know it. It has a lot of really nice features and it brews hotter coffee than any other coffee maker I've had. And this is almost the only coffee machine with this capacity in this price range. I use filtered water and when combined with the charcoal filters in the car it makes a damn good cup. BTW I have a couple of these filters http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013H3UMEU and they work great. Also, they are MUCH smaller than Cuisinart's stamps. The only reason I can't give them 5 stars is for one reason. When filling the water tank, the lid does not open far enough to use the coffee pot. You really have to get creative when you reach the end of the filling. Is it a deal killer? Not really, it's just a minor annoyance and the main reason I didn't think this coffee maker was 5 star worthy. Conclusion: This is the best coffee maker I've ever had. While it's not perfect (and it might be for the price), I'm very happy with this coffee maker and I'm sure you are too. UPDATE: 3 1/2 months later it stopped working properly. The water tank no longer empties completely. Towards the end of the cycle, the machine will start making a series of clicks and pops, as if it can't pump out water. The maker will emit a series of beeps as if it's ready, but there are still "4 cups" of water in the tank. I only use soft filtered water. This is the only water that has ever flowed through the generator. On average I do about 6 pots a week. I also change the small activated carbon filters diligently. One more note. A LOT of water appears to be evaporating and as a result a lot of steam comes out of the machine. It messed up the bottom of my closet. DO NOT pick up this device or place it under a closet. Now I pull it out from under the cupboard when I make a pot. UPDATE #2: Turns out the handyman just needed a good cleaning. I ran the CLR solution and ALL types of lime cartridges came out. After that it worked perfectly again. Note to self: If a machine says it needs cleaning, clean it. It knows more than you. This is part of Skynet UPDATE #3: 4 months after purchase. The black coating on the heating pad is peeling off. That's rather disappointing.
