This is exactly what I wanted: a 5 " long shank. And it comes with its own nut.

Thanks to the first reviewer for pointing out that " 6" is an overall length. I was looking for a 5" shaft and there it is. Overall length is just under 5 15/16". Inner diameter of eye is approximately 9/16: Outer diameter of eye is just under 1". I've tried several 1/4-20 nuts from another supplier on these shafts and they all fit.
