I bought this device to fuse all the ends of the threads I have and not throw them away. I hate wasting the end of the reel. I also can't get over the idea of the print failing because the filament is running out. This threaded connector (splice) is well made but not very functional. I made various attempts to connect the thread as described in the instructions (translated from Chinese in the attached photo). I still haven't gotten a solid joint that doesn't slow down as it cools. The attempts that came closest to success were slightly thicker than the 1.75mm required, and when trying to adjust its thickness in various ways, the thread broke right where the joint had fused. I can see how it should work in theory (that's why I bought it), but the app doesn't seem to fit the theory. Maybe I just have to keep working with him. What worries me is that once I have a good connection, it might not go through my extruder orifice, rendering the whole thing useless anyway. It pauses the print when the filament runs out so I can add the next batch of filament to the print. Hope this helps someone.
