Picked up two of these on a recent trip with friends to the Canadian Rockies. We were walking on a rather poorly marked trail and wanted to use the uploaded topographic map to check we were on the right track. When we launched the app and GoTele it couldn't get a GPS location so it was completely useless for the moment. He worked better in the city, but not when he was needed. The app itself is very clunky. Maps, which can be incredibly large, can only be downloaded when the app is open. So if you download a high-quality map hundreds of megabytes in size, you won't be able to use your phone for about 45 minutes. Download. The surface of the map is also very flawed. When you zoom in, the map disappears entirely and you just see a gray grid that doesn't make any sense. It would be better if the map itself just gets blurry when you don't get that close. The product is great in concept, but it's not ready for prime time. I returned mine for a refund.
