Review on Irix Dragonfly 150mm πŸ“· f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Lens for Nikon by Alex Maynard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive Macro Lens

I bought this because I was tired of using extension tubes and wanted a reliable macro lens. This lens features manual focus, which can make handheld close-ups difficult due to the very shallow depth of field. The maximum aperture of f/2.8 is handy because you need a lot of close-up light to achieve a fast shutter speed. I took it from my hands to shoot bugs on bright yellow flowers in the morning and was able to get good results. out of hand even in light winds. Taken with Nikon D750. LightRoom doesn't have a lens correction profile yet, if that's your concern, but I don't really see much need for a correction. I would recommend this for a native mount, but I can't speak for people having issues with the adapter.

The 150mm is manual lens 1:1, so you can get very detailed macro shots.
